Happy Monday! One week left until Christmas break! I can’t believe it! I hope you have exciting plans for the holiday season, especially now that you have an extra week 🙂
In the classroom this week…
Bible – This week, we are watching the beautiful video “The Nativity Story”. Also, the kids are making cookies for the teachers… but SHHHH… it will be a surprise. In addition to that, we are wrapping some DVDs that the church has and will pass them out at The Carriage Inn retirement home, on Friday. This is not a required fieldtrip, so please make sure to fill out the permission slip going home today.
Math – This week, we continue to work on Division with Decimals. All groups will finish decimals this week. After the test, students will take a mid-year math assessment. This will help see that growth each student has had.
Reading – This week, students will be reading their PR books. Remember, two PR books and book reports are due by Friday.
Language Arts – Due to the craziness of last week, we didn’t get our LA done. So, this week, we will finish our unit on Verbs. We will learn about Verb tenses, review, then take our test.
Science – Due to practice, we weren’t able to get Science done last week. This week, we are still reading Ch.11. We will learn how to measure matter and learn what physical changes are.
Social Studies – We finish learning about Ancient Egypt and Nubia this week. Our project is due on Thursday. Ch.3 Egypt and Nubia project
Spelling – No spelling this week.
In regards to RenWeb… You are able to check Renweb for assignments for the week. Check the Bible tab for lesson plans, the Anthes Mail for the week, and any other list or memory verse. Also, VERY important – check your email every Sunday for updated grades. If you have any questions regarding those emails, please let me know. This will help you stay on top of any missing or low-grade assignments.
Updated grades/ assignments – Everything was updated yesterday. I will go in this afternoon and update with PR books. Students recieved a missing assignment list this morning. All assignments are due by Friday. Any assignment that is not turned in will be given a zero.
Christmas Program – Thank you to parents and students alike. The program was AMAZING! I was so blessed to be a part of it and I was blessed that the students ran the whole thing! I am very proud!!! 🙂
Impact Day – Our class needs to bring in items to help with Impact Day this Thursday, December 14. Each student needs to bring 8 toothbrush & toothpaste travel sets. Feel free to buy these items at the 99cent store or the Dollar Tree. If you are not interested in shopping, please bring in $10. All items need to be brought to the school by or before Wednesday, December 14.
Christmas Party – We will have a classroom Christmas party on Thursday, December 14 and Friday, December 15. . Since money is tight, students are asked to buy a gift that is no more than $2.00, after tax. I encouraged the students to be creative, rather than just buying a $1 gift, they could bake cookies, cupcakes, or a cake with a $1 mix. They could buy something for one dollar and make it better. Also, for the Christmas party, please bring your favorite snacks to share with the class. It can be a bag of chips. It can be sliced apples. It can be candy. It can be anything. Please bring that on Thursday, December 14.
I am truly blessed to have you in my classroom family. Thank you for all your prayers and support. You are all very special to me!!!
