Happy Monday! And welcome back to the classroom!! After Spring Break and Outdoor School, it is nice to be back!
In the classroom this week…
Bible – This week, we begin our next topic of study – Jesus’s Sacrifice- True to His purpose. This lesson will take us through to Easter.
Math – We are learning about Mean, Median, Mode, and Range this week. It is a lesson on how to organize and compute data sets. We will be working through a packet, but only working on one topic at a time.
Reading – This week we will begin our next Pathways book, “Esperanza Rising”. It is about a girl’s experience with loss and love, and how she deals with them from an immigrant’s perspective.
Spelling – Pretest is on Wednesday and the Test is on Friday.
Language Arts – We will finish up our poetry project this week. Our last two poems are Cinquain and Quatrain. I am super excited to see our finished project! 🙂
Science – This week, we are learning about Electricity and Magnetism in Ch.14. We will see how electricity and magnetism connect.
Social Studies – We are still learning about the Greek civilizations, in Ch.8. We have learned what has shaped the Greek’s mindsets, how they viewed the world, and who conquered their land. We will also be choosing topics to do interest reports on. Students will read more about their chosen topic and write up a summary of what they have learned.
Sub days – This week, I will be taking off Wednesday for a doctor’s appointment downtown, with my husband.
Outdoor School – Thank you parents for entrusting me with your kiddos. Even with the bad weather, the kids had a blast! I would like to give a very special “Thank you” to Mr. Rosales, Jeremy’s dad, for being our male sponsor and driving for the trip. I am thankful for him and for the gift we were all given to go to Outdoor School.
Congratulations! – Congratulations to the Pathfinders. They did a Bible experience, in Keene, TX, this past weekend and won 2nd place. I know they were all anxious about it and worked very hard, so definitely congratulate a Pathfinder if you know one.
